R. Michael Phillips is an author and classically trained artist. He has co-authored and
illustrated a children's book and his short stories have been featured in Suspense Magazine. By combining
his creative talents with his passion for art and antiquities, he conceived the
fictional world of the East London Adventurers Club. His first mystery, “Along
Came A Fifer” is the first book in the Ernie
Bisquets Mystery Series, published by Asylett Press in July 2009. Book 2 in the series- “Rook, Rhyme & Sinker”, was released January 2011.R. Michael Phillips.

School and Group Presentations
Ask about a FREE Group or School Presentation within a 75-mile radius to Michael’s home in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The presentation is approximately 45 minutes in length and includes an artist and author background talk, the fundamentals for preparing to write your novel, manuscript presentation and the importance of writing a great query. A great deal of emphasis is put on setting goals and not being discouraged by the rejection letters every author encounters. The submission of a manuscript is something that is continually refined as you go through the process. Taking the criticism constructively and acting upon it will serve to improve what we have set out to accomplish.
The original oil painting Michael painted and used for the cover of "Along Came A Fifer" will be on display, accompanied by an explanation of how the mystery novel evolved from it. The presentation will be concluded with a question and answer session. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at a reduced price.
